The UK has had a fairly acceptable bank holiday weekend here. Sunshine and rain so quite typical!
Life is busy in the Folly Bloom household from Monday’s to Friday’s. School is busy with the gearing up for SAT’s for Master Folly. The introduction to the Reception school year has started for the littlest cherub (who I found having a power nap under the dinner table!) Big girl cherub is blogging away on her whole Pottermore experience. Middle girl cherub is asking to go to Breakfast Club so she can show me her Doodle Day entry on the school wall. So all is well and busy and only one ‘slug’ nose in view so that’s not bad for this house.
Mr Folly Bloom is tapping away doing ‘important’ stuff too but he managed 2 mins to serve a glass of red wine so he has his priorities in order. Our new way to work in the evening is to have the TV on the radio channel and the fire roaring so we might be here for some time as it’s warmer than bed!!
Before I start to blog about the lack of time to grocery shop and fetching the meal out of the freezer my inspiration this weekend was the calmness of the Lake District again.
The fact there is lack of phone and digital signal is starting to pay off, we are all enjoying reading, drawing and playing. New kites have been bought and flown, after waiting for the very still day to get up to a slight breeze. We only caught one kite in a tree so good times!
We have introduced the cherubs to a game of cards and they showed us their ‘Go Fish’ card game, we drank frothy coffee with spoons and created and played lots of plasticine animation.
The picture’s with this post captures how lucky we are to have this on our caravan doorstep, rolling hills, bouncy lambs, woodlands to make dens in and its all super safe as the cherubs can play for as far as the eye can see and further if big cherub has her phone charged!
It’s simple, it’s nice, it’s the breaks we all need as a family…….x
