The sun has shone in the UK over the last week and this has been very rare this last month. I feel that the garden is well behind on ‘maintenance’ and the rain has only led to more dangerously, slippy decking. After a full weekend spent jet washing/blasting it the slime is gone as well as the odd terracotta pot that felt the force.
Swept and painted the decks will be preserved for a few more years which is a financial relief as there is so much of it. We are so lucky to have a lovely designed space which includes a haven we call our ‘tea house’. A Japanese influenced space where we trot down the garden with that glass of red and enjoy the evening sun.
While technically a UFO refers to any unidentified flying object the joy I found today in the garden leaped out and reminded me of UFO’s…
The hydrangea plant at a soggy, dark part of the garden is popping with flowers. In the three years we have been in our home I have tendered, chopped and fed this hydrangea and had no flowers on it, just ample green, lush leaves. So I am very giddy about this mass of flowers and enjoying every perfect petal and bloom.
But hey, they totally look like flying saucers as their centre buds aren’t open yet but their petals at the edges are so I name these
“UFO’s for the ladies”
as they hover over the pond.
Love & all things real!
